About JIFC
-
Journey IFC strives to create safe spaces to worship God.
Know that you are welcome, just as you are.
Regardless of religious background or lack thereof, skin color, political affiliation, sexuality, age, culture, or any other label you own or that society throws on you; you are welcomed and celebrated here.

We have five main ministries/teams/whatever you want to call them: Heart, Soul, Strength, Mind, and Bones. Plus a Shepherds team that keeps us from tripping over each other.
We all bring different gifts to the table, and we each seem to migrate to the ministry where we think we can bring the most of ourselves. And sometimes we join the ministry we sense will stretch us beyond our comfort zone.
Which one beckons to you?

We embrace the many ways people experience God, learn about meaningful spirituality, and find community.
Our gatherings include readings and teaching from Jewish and Christian scripture, as well as poems and quotes by religious and non-religious authors, listening to and singing religious and non-religious music, watching movie clips, open discussion, meditation, silence, laughter, bells, lots of candles, activities, more laughter, elements from ancient Christian worship traditions, elements from other traditions, and anything else we can find that feels true and helps us connect to God/Spirit and the world.
Come Join Us
We gather Sunday mornings - to talk, to listen, to have coffee and snacks, to be still, to learn, to serve.
Journey IFC is located in a church building constructed by hand in 1952 by Swedish farmers who lived east of Austin (true story).
