February 18 - April 8, 2018.

It is the season of Lent, a season of meditating on the cross and resurrection. Jesus interacts with many people, inviting them into clarity about their attachments, their fears, and the lies they believe about themselves and God and the world. He offers them freedom. Ultimately this work leads him to be executed, but that, of course, is not the end of the story. In this worship series, we continue that work, together, with God and each other.

Legion

We begin this series with a story in which Jesus confronts the many voices plaguing a person who feels lost and alone. How many times have you felt overwhelmed by the voices and struggles within you? Let’s wrestle together with the legions that afflict us -- and find the freedom that clarity brings.

Let the Dead Bury the Dead

This week we explore the story of the Jesus follower who may or may not have to go take care of his dying father’s estate. How many times have you felt overwhelmed by the many and varied responsibilities of your life? The voices that tell you to “do this” or “be that”? Let’s struggle together with the conflicts those can cause in us — and find the freedom that clarity brings.

It's Matthew's Party

It's the season of Lent, a season of meditating on the cross and resurrection. Jesus interacts with many people, inviting them into clarity about their attachments, their fears, and the lies they believe about themselves and God and the world. He offers them freedom. Ultimately this work leads him to be executed, but that, of course, is not the end of the story. And we continue that work, together, with God and each other. This week features community, togetherness, and parties!

And Jesus Loved Him

As Lent continues, we keep peeling back parts of ourselves that aren’t our deepest, truest self. This week, a man with typical American attachment-to-material-things disorder asks Jesus for help. Jesus sees this guy and understands him, loves him. And ... well, you'll see how it goes from there.

Mirrors, Name Tags, and Stones

This week: Buckle yourselves in. The coaster has begun its descent for real.

Set Your Face

This week: Palm parade. Jesus video. Jesus’ face turns to stone. What is worth setting your face towards?

Your One True Self

Let’s imagine that the thing we are all longing to hear most of all, in our moments of doubt and despair and questioning and worry, is a trustworthy “It will be okay.” After layers of our false selves are peeled, stripped, and coaxed away, what remains? A deep reassurance that, even naked as we may feel, it will be okay. That’s what Jesus kept reminding his people to believe and trust. That’s the invitation of Easter. Let’s get together and believe in that together.

Service Sunday

This is an annual event where Journeyers act as “God’s Hands in the world” in lieu of the worship service that day. All Journeyers, including children, are encouraged to help.
