When Jesus quotes the Jewish scripture, "Love your neighbor as you love yourself," a few questions might occur like:

  1. What makes a neighbor? Geographical? Demographic? Philosophical? Political?
  2. Does loving neighbors mean caring for them, feeding them, checking up on them, forgiving them, tolerating them, or what?
  3. Are neighbors only those who are part of my tribe, my church, my city?
  4. This might not be too bad. Or it might be a big stretch. Or both.
