Gathering Our Spirit to God's Spirit
Positioned around the room are objects that help us to see: telescopes, microscopes, 3-D glasses, magnifying glasses, etc. A giant eye chart hangs at the front of the room. The cross is behind the chart, casting its shadow on the letters. The words "I see God in you" are hidden among the letters on the eye chart.
- “I Can See Clearly Now” by Johnny Nash plays
- A Journeyer steps up to light the lamp and another rings the bell
- David (E) and Leslie (L) make announcements
Worshiping with Our Children
- A Journeyer leads our children in talking about how actually seeing something is important to understanding what it is really like. We can have people describe something, or someone, or someplace, but to see it or see a picture of it helps us appreciate it and connect to it better. Understanding how we picture or imagine God helps us understand how we see the world around us.
Welcome and Breathe

"Santa Claus Is Coming to Town" by Haven Gillespie & J. Fred Coots
Oh! You better watch out, you better not cry, you better not pout, I'm telling you why: Santa Claus is coming to town!
He's making a list, he's checking it twice, gonna find out who's naughty or nice. Santa Claus is coming to town!
He sees you when you're sleeping, he knows when you're awake. He knows when you've been bad or good, so be good for goodness sake!
So, you better watch out, you better not cry, you better not pout, I'm telling you why: Santa Claus is coming to town.
- A third Journeyer reads an excerpt from “Every Breath You Take” by The Police
“Every breath you take/Every move you make/Every bond you break, every step you take/I'll be watching you.
Every single day/Every word you say/Every game you play, every night you stay/I'll be watching you.”

Every Day: A Journey Responsive Prayer
Reader: You see us, You know us, You love us…
Journey: Every day.
Reader: You see the world You created, You hear its cries. You see it, You know it and You love it…
Journey: Every day.
Reader: You teach us to see the world You love -- to see it, to know it, and to love it the way You do, and to act justly in response…
Journey: Every day. Amen.
