For something to be born, to emerge, to find new life, the life-force that originates with God must push through whatever is already in place. Sometimes what is growing is being nourished by what surrounds it, like the soil around a seed; sometimes mulch or concrete or weeds choke out what is trying to be born. Our discernment process, hearing and acting on what we feel God birthing within us, can help us discover what God is doing and growing within us and around us.
