So you want to learn more about Journey. This section of the site provides info about all aspects of Journey. If you don't see the answer to your question here, just let us know and we will add it to the site. You may also want to look at the Journey Owner's Manual, a guide to everything you ever wanted to know about Journey but didn't know you wanted to ask. Sort of. For all the offical stuff, including specifics about Journey's structure and Ministries, check out the Journey By-Laws, a surprisingly good read.
Our Beliefs and Our Vision
What We Believe
We're sure that God is good. God is the purest form of love. God is a mystery. God is at work in the world. God cares about every person in every situation. God is not small. God will not fit into any box that human beings create. We believe that understanding and following God is an unending process. We see the life, ministry, teaching, death, and resurrection of Jesus as the perfect expression of the love and power of God. We believe that following Jesus is our highest calling. We believe that when people let go of their own fears (even a little bit), God has room to do things in us and through us that we wouldn't think are possible. We believe that God wants to heal all people. We try to be a part of that healing work.
Our Vision: What We Believe God Wants Us To Do
When Jesus was asked to define the most important thing in life, he answered: "Love God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength; and love other people as you love yourself." - Luke 10:27
We believe that when He says "Love," Jesus means serving, healing and giving. We therefore understand our community's calling as a commandment to: Love God and Love Other People.
Because we are committed to helping God love and heal the world, our hope is that we can be a Servant Church. Journey IFC does not exist solely for the benefit of its members. Instead, we ask God for help in giving our gifts, resources, grace, and love away to others.
